1. US Secure Flight Program

Yhdysvaltain turvallisuusviranomainen The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) on ottanut käyttöön Secure Flight -ohjelman, jolla kerätään ennakkotietoja jokaisesta Yhdysvaltoihin, Yhdysvalloista tai Yhdysvaltojen kautta matkustavasta henkilöstä.

Kaikki varauksiin, joissa matka suuntautuu USA:han, USA:sta tai USA:n kautta, on lisättävä seuraavat tiedot: 

• Täydellinen nimi (kuten se on kirjoitettu passiin koneluettavaan osaan esim. HAEMAELAEINEN LIISA ANNIKKI)
• Sukupuoli
• Syntymäaika
• Kansalaisuus (esim. suomalainen)
• Passin numero
• Passin viimeinen voimassaolopäivä
• Maa, jossa passi on myönnetty
• REDRESS-numero (mikäli saatavilla)
• KNOWN TRAVELLER-numero (mikäli saatavilla)

Pyydämme teitä ystävällisesti ilmoittamaan yllä olevat tiedot vahvistuksen yhteydessä. Lentoyhtiö toimittaa tiedot eteenpäin TSA:lle. Tiedot pitää olla lentovarauksessa viimeistään 72 tuntia ennen lähtöä. Mikäli varaus tehdään vähemmän kuin 72 tuntia ennen lentoa, tiedot on annettava heti varauksen yhteydessä.

Vaadittujen tietojen puuttuminen varauksesta voi aiheuttaa sen, että lentoyhtiö ei voi hyväksyä henkilöä lennolle.

*)Redress-numero on DHS:n antama yksilöllinen tunnus, joka annetaan niille henkilöille, jotka käyttävät DHS:n TRIP-ohjelmaa (TRIP=Traveler Redress Inquiry Program).
**)Known Traveller–numeroa käytetään sellaisten matkustajien tunnistamiseksi, joille Yhdysvaltain viranomaiset ovat tehneet turvallisuusselvityksen.

2. APIS (Advance Passenger Information System)

USA:n viranomaiset (US Department of Homeland Security) vaativat lentoyhtiöitä ilmoittamaan ennakkoon USA:han matkustavien henkilöiden osoitetiedot. Menettely koskee kaikkia muita paitsi USA:n kansalaisia. Tiedot kerätään viimeistään lähtöselvityksessä.

Jotta lähtöselvitys sujuisi mahdollisimman nopeasti, suosittelemme, että täytätte osoitetiedot etukäteen lentoyhtiöiden Internet-sivuilla. Linkit lentoyhtiöiden sivuille löytyvät tämän sivun lopusta.

Mikäli lentoyhtiö kerää tiedot PDF-lomakkeella, on se tulostettava mukaan lähtöselvitykseen.

Halutessanne Kaleva Travel voi myös täyttää lentoyhtiön lomakkeen puolestanne. Mikäli majoitusta ei ole varattu kauttamme, pyydämme ystävällisesti ilmoittamaan osoitteenne USA:ssa (kadunnimi ja numero, kaupunki, osavaltio ja postinumero). 3. ESTA

USA:n tulli- ja rajavartiolaitos (Department of Homeland Security / Customs and Border Protection) on ottanut käyttöön elektronisen hyväksymismenettelyn USA:han matkaavia varten. Matkustajan tulee tehdä ESTA-hyväksyntä Internetin kautta viimeistään 72 tuntia ennen matkaansa.  

8.9.2010 alkaen ESTA-hyväksyntä on maksullinen. Maksun suuruus on USD 14 ja se peritään luottokorttimaksuna hakemuksen yhteydessä.

ESTA-hyväksyminen on voimassa kaksi vuotta tai lyhyemmän ajan, mikäli passi vanhenee ennen sitä tai passin tiedot muuttuvat. ESTA-hyväksynnnän puuttuessa voidaan matkustajilta evätä pääsy koneeseen.

4. Passi ja viisumi

USA:n maahantuloviranomainen vaatii jokaiselta maahan saapuvalta viisumittomalta suomalaiselta matkustajalta koneellisesti luettavan passin. Suomen pitkäaikaispassit ovat koneellisesti luettavia, mutta vuoden voimassa olevat ja ns. pikapassit eivät sitä ole. Vanhempien passiin merkityistä lapsista ei passin koneellisesti luettavassa osassa ole henkilötietoja, joten lapselle pitää hankkia joko oma pitkäaikaispassi tai USA:n konsulaatista viisumi. USA:n viranomainen suosittelee kuitenkin omaa passia lapsille.

Suomen kansalainen voi jatkossakin matkustaa ilman viisumia USA:han edellyttäen, että
- hänellä on voimassa oleva, koneellisesti luettava passi,
- hän on loma- tai liikematkalla,
- hänen matkansa kestää enintään 90 päivää,
- hänellä on vahvistettu paluulippu tai lippu jatkolennolle (tai e-lipun matkakuvaus/kuitti),
- hänellä on riittävästi varallisuutta kattamaan koko oleskeluaika,
- hänen US Secure Flight Program-, APIS- ja ESTA-tietonsa on täytetty asianmukaisesti ja ajoissa,
- hän saapuu saapuu USA:han ns. Visa Waiver ohjelmaan osallistuvalla kuljetusyhtiöllä.

1. U.S. Secure Flight Program
The United States transportation security authority, The Transportation Security Administration (TSA), has taken into use the Secure Flight program, with which to collect advance information of every person travelling to the United States, from the United States or through the United States.  

All reservations in which the destination or location of departure is the United States or which include flights within the U.S., must be supplemented with the following information:

• Full name (as it appears on the passport's machine readable part e.g. MUELLER HANS DIETRICH)
• Gender
• Date of birth
• Nationality (e.g. German)
• Passport number
• Passport expiry date
• Passport country of issue
• REDRESS–number (when available)
• KNOWN TRAVELLER-number (when available)

We kindly ask you to provide us with the above information in connection to confirmations. The airline will forward the information to the TSA. The information must be included in a flight booking no later than 72 hours before departure. In case the flight reservation is done less than 72 hours before departure, the information must be given when booking the flight. 

If the required information is not included in the booking, the airline will not necessarily allow the passenger in question to board the flight.  

*)A Redress number is an individualised code granted by the DHS to persons who use the DHS’s TRIP program (TRIP=Traveller Redress Inquiry Program).  

**)Known Traveller numbers are used to identify such passengers on whom U.S. security officials have run security checks.

2. APIS (Advance Passenger Information System)
U.S. authorities (the US Department of Homeland Security) require airlines to deliver the address information of persons travelling to the United States in advance. The procedure applies to everyone but citizens of the United States. The information is collected at check-in, at the latest.  

In order for check-in to proceed as fast as possible, we recommend that passengers fill in the address details beforehand, on airlines' web pages. Links to the airlines’ websites can be found at the end of this page. 

In case the airline in question collects the information on a PDF form, this must be printed and handed over at check-in. 

Kaleva Travel can also fill in the form on your behalf, should you prefer this. In the event that you have not booked your accommodations through us, we kindly ask you to provide us with the address you stay at when in the United States (street name and number, city, state and zip/postal code).  The service is subject to a charge mentioned as the visa processing fee in our price list. 

3. ESTA

The United States Department of Homeland Security (DHS)/Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has launched the Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA). A passenger is required to fill in the ESTA application form online at least 72 hours before departure.  

From 8th September 2010 a fee applies of USD 14 per application for an electronic travel authority through the ESTA system. The fee is charged online as a credit card payment in connection to submitting an application.

An approved ESTA application is valid for a period of two years or until the applicant's passport expires or there is a change to passport information. Travellers who have not received ESTA approval may be denied boarding.

4. Passports and visas
The U.S. immigration authority requires that every Finnish passenger entering the country without a visa have a machine-readable passport. Finnish long-term passports are machine-readable, but passports valid for only a year, and so-called emergency passports, are not. Children included on their parent’s passport are not identified in the machine-readable section of the passport. Because of this, children are either to have long-term passports of their own or a visa granted by the U.S. Consulate. U.S. authorities nonetheless recommend that children carry passports of their own. 

Finnish citizens may continue travelling to the United States without a visa, provided that the passenger in question:
- has a valid, machine-readable passport,
- is on a holiday or business trip,
- will not remain in the country for more than 90 days,
- has a confirmed return ticket or a ticket for a connecting flight (or an itinerary/receipt of an electronic ticket)
- has funds sufficient enough to last throughout his or her stay,
- has filled in the U.S. Secure Flight Program, APIS and ESTA information accurately and in time, and
- enters the United States with a carrier participating in the so-called Visa Waiver program.
